The purpose of process is to make decisions visible, create opportunities to identify concerns and retain what is learned between revisions.

Requirements vary between cases. The principles below provide a disciplined framework without pretending that every project follows one identical path.

    Case context

    Development begins by understanding the individual animal, the mobility challenge and the veterinary context relevant to the engineering question.

  2. 02

    Veterinary oversight

    Adaptive Axis does not diagnose veterinary conditions. Veterinary professionals remain responsible for clinical assessment and veterinary care. Custom mobility engineering should operate alongside appropriate veterinary assessment or oversight.

    Requirements before design

    Engineering begins by identifying practical requirements and constraints. Depending on the case, these may include geometry, mobility objectives, interfaces, environmental use and fitting considerations.

    Prototype before assumption

    A prototype makes an idea physical enough to question. It can reveal geometry, interface or practical concerns before an early design is treated as final.

  5. 05

    Fit & observation

    Physical review may consider how geometry interfaces with its intended location, how fit and movement appear, and whether interference or other design concerns should inform engineering refinement. This is not a veterinary diagnosis or clinical assessment.

  6. 06

    Iterative refinement

    Observations and feedback may lead to geometry changes, another prototype or further review. The appropriate sequence and number of revisions depend on the individual project.

    Material & component consideration

    Materials and components are considered against functional requirements, manufacturing constraints and the intended interface. No regulatory material status is claimed unless it is specifically verified and documented.

    Documentation & revision control

    Adaptive Axis is developing a documented framework for design versioning, prototype revisions, project notes, material records and fitting observations. This is development architecture—not a claim of an established or certified quality management system.
